CINAHL advanced search

To access this database, scroll down to the databases button and click on it.

Then click on the letter C and scroll down and click on CINAHL.

Databases are set by default to the advanced search, which will have several boxes for terms/keywords/subject headings

The top box is "weighted" which means that the term input into this box is the "most relevant" (your primary subject)

This is a way to narrow results.

CINAHL Headings search

Click the search icon on the right.

Click on the term in blue (hyperlinked) to get more details.

If you want Gout to be the primary term then you need to select the "Major Concept" box.

You can "explode" the term to select further subject headings

Let's include Drug therapy from the exploded headings options.

Then scroll up and click on "Add to search"

Now search for NSAID in the same way you searched for Gout.

Now narrow in the filter section to WOMEN and then also select age range as needed.
